The Salzburg Card is the official tourist card of the city of Salzburg, allowing you to visit the main attractions with ease. The Salzburg Card not only saves you money on entrance fees to museums, but also allows you to skip the queue at certain sites and travel free of charge on Salzburg’s public transport. In addition to this, the Card entitles you to offers and discounts at numerous attractions, museums and concerts. Thanks to this card, you can try out different types of activities at discounted prices, such as guided city tours and entrance to sights around Salzburg, but also access to wellness centres and adventure parks.

What the Salzburg Card includes

The Salzburg Card includes free admission to more than 30 sites of interest in the city of Salzburg. In particular, you can visit the Mozart House, Mozart’s Birthplace, the Domquartier, the Catacombs and the Hohensalzburg Fortress, which is one of the best-preserved fortresses in central Europe. At Hohensalzburg Fortress, not only the entrance fee is included, but also the funicular railway ride you have to take to reach it.

In addition to these sites, it is also possible to travel free of charge by public transport and take a scenic fast boat cruise to admire the city from the water. Discounted prices are also available for events and concerts such as those organised by the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and the Salzburg Advent Serenades.

Also discounted are tickets for a tour of the city via the Hop On – Hop Off buses and tickets for access to the summer toboggan run. The card is available in three denominations with validity for 1, 2 or 3 days.

What is not included in the Salzburg Card

The Salzburg Card does not include admission to Salzburg Cathedral, which is considered one of the symbols of the city. Card holders, however, can enter at a discounted price.

How the Salzburg Card works

The Salzburg Card can be purchased online before you travel, or at the reception desks of major hotels, at all tourist offices in the city or at the airport.

If you buy it online, you will receive the Card by email in digital format to print out or keep on your smartphone.

The Card is available in 24, 48 or 72-hour versions. The card is activated on your first visit to a museum or attraction included in the package and is valid from that moment on for the amount of hours for which you purchased it.

How much does the Salzburg Card cost

The cost of the Salzburg Card depends on the time of year you decide to visit the city. In particular, there are two periods: the first is the ‘low season‘ which runs from 1st January to 30th April and 1st November to 31st December, the second is the ‘high season‘ which runs from 1st May to 31st October.

The Card has a different cost for adults and for children and young people aged 6 to 15.
